Made with care…
Commission a Piece
Creating a pair of moccasins with Jamie Gentry Designs is a collaborative process. Each commissioned piece is thoughtfully created through conversation, intention, and respect for the time required to bring the work to life.
Every pair is handmade by me, from start to finish. As a single artist and maker, I balance my studio practice alongside teaching, collaborations, and other commitments. Because of this, I accept a limited number of commissions and schedule my work well in advance.
Please note: I am not shipping to the United States at this time due to current tariff restrictions. When this changes, I will resume shipping to the US. Thank you for your understanding.
This commission inquiry form is for individuals who have a clear understanding of the type of piece they would like to create together. Please take time to review the available options and consider what feels meaningful for your piece.
I do not recreate every piece shown in my artwork portfolio. Some works are one-of-a-kind artistic expressions and will remain unique pieces. If you are inspired by a previous work, we can discuss creating a new piece that reflects your own story and intentions.
If you are unsure about the options available or are looking for a specific previous design, please take time to explore my available work and artwork galleries before submitting an inquiry.
Thank you for respecting the time, care, and intention that goes into every piece I create.
Working together
When you invite me into creating a commissioned piece, it becomes a journey we share. Each pair of moccasins is created through collaboration, conversation, and trust. To honour that process — and to protect the creative space where each design takes shape — I hold a few gentle boundaries:
I check and respond to messages on Tuesdays and Fridays.
I am not able to accommodate rush commissions. Each piece requires time, care, and attention, and my schedule is planned well in advance to allow me to create thoughtfully while balancing my artistic practice, teaching, collaborations, and other commitments.
I kindly ask that communication is kept to what is necessary so the creative process can remain uninterrupted and each piece can receive the attention it deserves.
These practices allow me to stay present with my work and create pieces that honour the materials, the process, and the relationship between maker and wearer.
Thank you for trusting me with your story and for walking alongside this process of slow, intentional making.
Commission Details
Beadwork
Beadwork is a specialized and time-intensive part of my artistic practice. Each beaded piece is thoughtfully designed and created by hand, with the amount of work varying depending on the complexity of the design, size of the piece, and level of detail.
Because of the time required, I accept a limited number of beaded commissions and am not able to accommodate every beadwork request.
Beadwork begins at $750 and is added to the cost of the moccasin. More intricate beadwork designs require additional time and investment, which will be discussed during the commission process.
Please note that not every previous beaded piece shown in my artwork portfolio is available for reproduction. Some works are one-of-a-kind artistic expressions and will not be recreated.
Timelines and Communication
Commission timelines vary depending on my current schedule and the nature of the work. Each piece is created with care and intention, and I am unable to accommodate rush commissions.
If you have a specific date in mind, please include it in the notes section of your inquiry, and I will let you know whether that timeline is possible.
Please include any additional information that will help me understand your vision for this piece in the notes section.
After submitting your inquiry, please check your junk/spam folder for my response.
Gilakas’la. Thank you for trusting me with the opportunity to create a meaningful piece with you.
Beginning Your Commission Inquiry
The selections below help me understand the foundation of the piece you are interested in creating. They are starting points for our conversation rather than a finalized design. Each commissioned piece is created with intention and may evolve throughout the process.
